Will [AI] Artificial Intelligence Replace Teachers?

Hi there, the following information is for the 37% of Private School Teachers who wish to upskill themselves, and make a significant impact through their education. This message provides a path to achieve these goals.

The first task for an educator is to understand what AI offers :

  1. It’s the job of AI to make human work styles better, easier, and more automated, while human intelligence will remain engaged to influence the process as it was before.
  2. Previously, we had no AI. Now, we have generative AI, which is currently in its early stages of development. However, it is rapidly improving, becoming more powerful, and increasingly helpful.
  3. 65% of primary school students will likely end up in jobs that do not yet exist.

Considering the third point, we should be excited about the revolution and the positive aspects of Artificial Intelligence, as highlighted by the World Economic Forum. They are attempting to showcase the significant, yet often overlooked, impact of AI.

AI’s Impact on Student Learning Styles

  1. Ground reality shows that the majority of students do not like learning through traditional methods such as chalk and board, textbooks, and rote memorization.
  2. They are more inclined towards practical experiential learning, which enhances their skill set while being engaging and far from boring.

How AI is Changing Teaching Jobs

  1. As mentioned above, textbooks and rote memorization are no longer exciting for students. Therefore, teachers must go with the flow and adapt to the new demands.
  2. To understand the change in job roles you have to first understand the impact a teacher can make into others lives :
    – Shaping Child’s Future according to their strengths,
    – Building Values and Self Esteem of Students,
    – Supporting Students in their Low Time,
    – Enhancing Skills in Students,
    – Turning Students into Life Long Learners,
  3. This will be a transformative shift into a teacher’s self development while impacting the students.

Before understanding the tools, it’s important to first familiarize yourself with the psychological aspects of Change in Teachers Job Roles in A.I. Revolution.

  1. The previous focus of teaching was on the content provided in the textbook, where teachers, with 15+ years of experience, acted as experts, repeatedly delivering the same information to students.
  2. The primary objective used to be achieving good grades in Class 10th and 12th boards through rote memorization. However, with the NEP’s Competency-Based Learning, 50% of the exams now assess skills, meaning that simply memorizing information is no longer sufficient.
  3. Teachers’ main role now is to help students learn how to think and learn for their own good. Example : A Class 10 student, Aarav, is preparing for his upcoming Mathematics board exam. He has been studying regularly, but he’s aware that some topics—such as algebraic expressions, geometry, and probability—are more challenging for him. Aarav decides to use metacognitive strategies to optimize his study approach and ensure that he performs well on the exam.
